It all started when...
Five families met together in March of 2003 with a calling to bring the love of Jesus to the Schertz/Cibolo area. In September, we opened services to the public in a local middle school. In 2005, the church purchased 25.5 acres in Cibolo and decided to hold services on our property in September, 2006. We bought a large tent and met in it for the next three years. After three years of planning, we broke ground for our first building on Mother’s Day, 2009. We’ve been hosting services and events here ever since.
THE VISION OF DISCOVERY CHURCH...
The vision of Discovery Church is to be a place where each person is loved, transformed, and equipped. We believe the Bible is for us today. At Discovery, we use a modern-day translation and speak in simple terms that are easy to understand. We also use media, music and non-traditional methods to communicate biblical truths which bring life-changing results when applied. Regardless of church background, or a lack of one, people who attend Discovery Church hear a message of hope through Jesus Christ.

We believe the local church is the hope of the world. It is through the local church that people find hope and healing, worship God, and experience life-change through the resurrected Christ. Where we are headed...
We work to infiltrate our culture and community with the message of Jesus as each person is loved, transformed and equipped. We may be a long-term home for most, or a short stop on the journey for some, but all are invited to come experience the life-changing power and presence of God. Each person then carries this presence into their workplace, school, neighborhood and family to bring spiritual renewal.
Discovery is a church that seeks to fulfill our unique identity and walk in obedience to His mission for us as we focus our energy to bring love to our community, create an environment for lasting transformation, and equip each person to live out their own God-given calling. Our presence in the community improves and enriches the people who live here, and we work and pray for that influence to continually increase.
We are looking for strong men, courageous leaders, submitted to Christ as the Head of the Church.
We are looking for women who are confident in their calling and stepping into their designed destiny, whatever that God-given assignment may be.
We are looking for experienced and seasoned people who can guide with wisdom and love.
We are looking for young adults and teens filled with energy and passion, ready to transform their world with Jesus.
We are looking for children who are ready to discover the wonder of Jesus and how they can live as strong and confident people who will influence their generation with His love.
You don't have to have everything figured out to be here.
